Only $105? What’s going? Last month was so great! Well, the reason is I’m really ramping things up lately. Justin from Adsense Flippers Empire Flippers made a comment on my blog about how I spend only my profits each month on website creation. He mentioned how him and Joe also did this at first, but it was too slow in order to make a lot of websites quickly and scale things up. I totally agreed with them so I’m changing my strategy.
Last month I spent $1,267 on my business. That’s completely fine since I created about 40 new websites and bought domain names for others that are in the process of being built. As of today I have 69 websites. It’s a huge investment which I hope will really pay off in the next few months.
Recovering from the “Above the fold” Google Update
I got slapped a bit at the end of last month by the Google algorithm update, but I’m already starting to see improvement in my rankings after changing my ad layout. I’ve started using the CTR theme on some of my sites and it really seems to get a good click through rate so far. I’ll keep you updated with how it works out.

I’ve been guilty in the past (and present) and sitting on my profits because I hate spending money.
I need to take a leaf from your book!
Yeah it’s tempting to just sit back and take in the profits, but I know that if I reinvest them now I should see even more results in the future.
Good move to invest in the new domains, the only thing I’ve found in the past was that the more sites you get the more difficult it is to keep on top of what you have to do!
I’ll be interested in how the income jumps over the next 3 months , I think you’ll be in for a pleasant surprise!
Mark, you’re right that will a lot of sites it gets more complicated, but ManageWP makes it easy to manage all those sites. On top of that I’m outsourcing a lot of the work so that I don’t get too bogged down.
I also hope I have a nice income jump in the coming months. We’ll see 🙂

If you spend all day doing analysis you’ll never get anything done. You just have to dive in and know that you’ll make mistakes. If anyone tells you that they can pick winning niches every time they are lying.
ABSOLUTELY true, Mike, about not being able to pick the winners all the time. In fact, we pick losers on a regular basis, unfortunately!
What we’ve found works best for us is to “pick” within a certain set of parameters that leave us the LEAST likely to pick the losers. We do this through a filtering system of keywords and available domains that leaves us with what we think is a list of keywords that are the LEAST likely to be losers.
We’ve went back, looking at the sites of ours that did REALLY well, to look at the data we had before picking those sites to see if we could find any similarities so that we could improve our KW research. Unfortunately, we couldn’t find anything concrete that would help us improve. It was a bit depressing…but we’ve kept chugging on and taking a balanced approach to KW research since it seems to work.
What’s going on, Mike? As I’m sure you probably know I am also building niche sites and I’m having a great time doing it but I do have a quick question for you.
1.) Is the CTR theme working well for you because I was gonna try it but wasn’t sure

1. Yes the ctr theme is working out great so far. I’ve gone ahead and put it on most of my money sites. Good results so far.
2. I’m not quite sure about BMR yet. I’m going to see how my experiment goes and report on it at the end of the month. It seems that one of the sites has increased in rankings, but I haven’t looked into it yet.

I have never tried Adsense before but everytime I read about it and about micro niches, I get this urge that I should be diving on this already.
I just checked out the CTR theme and found a special price for it as well, I think I’m going to read a little bit more on this subject and maybe jump in!

Yeah, 69 sites seems like a lot to me, too. I could never handle them all without the ManageWP system that lets you update all your blogs from one interface. It’s awesome.

My sites are simply based upon commercially relevant things that people are searching for. I basically use the google keyword tool to check for $1 cpc, 1000 exact local searches per month, and medium or high competition. That’s it. From there on I eye the competition on the first page to see how difficult it is.

I use Manage WP to keep them all managed. It would be difficult without it.
That’s a lot of websites. Great work! I only have about 20 something so far and haven’t seen much success yet but I’ll keep at it. Maybe I need to try to do some better keyword research and link building.
Yes, it is a lot of sites…I’m up to 300 now 🙂
